
On October 6, 2025, Comrat State University (CSU) welcomes distinguished guests from the Republic of Turkey – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sibel BAYRAKTAR and PhD candidate Ayça İŞBİLEN, representatives of Trakya University (Trakya Üniversitesi), under the project: “THE SOCIO-CULTURAL MODEL FOCUSED ON PRESERVING THE GAGAUZ LANGUAGE AND CULTURE: TRANSFORMING HARMONIOUS BILINGUALISM INTO AN ADVANTAGE FOR THE GAGAUZ PEOPLE” (MODELGAGAUZ). Together with the project coordinator, Dr. Güllü KARANFIL, lecturer at CSU, the researchers will conduct fieldwork in educational institutions across the Gagauz Autonomous Territorial Unit (Republic of Moldova). The purpose of the visit is to study and support harmonious bilingualism among the target groups (Gagauz nationality) in the villages of Gaidar and Kazaklia (Gagauz Autonomous Territorial Unit, Republic of Moldova), which contributes to strengthening their linguistic identity and improving educational and career prospects. Focus group interviews will be conducted (7–8 people in each group). Observation of the language environment and recording features of oral speech; photo and video documentation of the research process (with participants' permission), along with a range of other activities, will be included in the researchers' work within the project work packages. This project is a key step in preserving and developing Gagauz language and culture in a multilingual environment
