
On 11 February 2026, Comrat hosted a ceremonial event dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Comrat State University. The celebration brought together faculty, students, alumni, and honorary guests from Moldova, Turkey, Romania, as well as representatives of diplomatic missions from Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, the USA, the Czech Republic, Greece, Azerbaijan, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, France, and Japan.
In the morning, the Administrative Building of the university welcomed honorary guests, photo sessions, and media interviews. The event continued at the Comrat Municipal House of Culture, where an art exhibition “CSU in Faces – 35 Years!” by artist, sculptor, doctor, and lecturer at CSU and Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, Atanas Karachoban, was opened. The exhibition presented 60 portraits of the rector, faculty, deans, and staff — a tribute to those who built and develop CSU.
The opening ceremony was hosted by Mikhail Rezunets, Dina Golubei, and Olga Ekonom. Congratulations were addressed to the guests by the Rector of CSU, Assoc., prof. PhD Serghei Zaharia, the President of the Republic of Moldova, Mrs. Maia Sandu, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, mayors of municipalities and villages of Gagauzia, as well as rectors of partner universities from Turkey and Romania.

The anthems of the Republic of Moldova, Gagauzia, Gaudeamus Igitur, and the CSU anthem were performed for the participants.
During the celebration, letters of appreciation and honorary certificates were awarded to staff, faculty, and key university partners.
The event concluded with a festive concert featuring CSU creative groups and invited artists, with music and dance performances reflecting the cultural heritage of Gagauzia and the academic environment of the university.
The celebration reflected the achievements and traditions of the university, uniting the past, present, and future of CSU.
