On May 13, 2026, a meeting between students and teachers of Comrat State University and a delegation from Friedrich Schiller University Jena (Germany), headed by Professor of Slavic Linguistics Ruprecht von Waldenfels, took place at CSU.
As part of an educational trip across Moldova and Gagauzia, German students studying Russian and other Slavic languages visited CSU in order to become acquainted with the linguistic and cultural environment of the region. During the meeting, the participants discussed issues of language, identity, bilingualism, and intercultural communication.
CSU students and guests from Germany communicated in a friendly atmosphere, exchanged experiences in learning foreign languages, and spoke about their universities, culture, and traditions. The participants showed particular interest in the linguistic situation in Gagauzia and the role of the Russian language in the region.
The meeting became an important step toward strengthening international academic cooperation and developing intercultural dialogue between students of the two countries.
