Comrat State University participated in the launch of the IRO4ALL project: internationalization of Moldovan universities according to European standards

Internationalization, inclusion, and sustainable development were at the core of the new Erasmus+ project (coordinator: Technical University of Moldova), in which Comrat State University also participated. The project makes a significant contribution to the modernization of university governance and the integration of higher education institutions in the Republic of Moldova into the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). The launch ceremony of the Erasmus+ KA2 project “Strengthening International Relations Offices in Moldovan HEIs for Further Integration into the EHEA” (IRO4ALL) was held at the Technical University of Moldova from December 15 to 16, 2025, bringing together 8 institutions from 4 countries: Republic of Moldova – Comrat State University, Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts, Military Academy of the Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun”, Cooperative-Commercial University of Moldova; Czech Republic – University of Life Sciences Prague; Romania – University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest; Spain – Polytechnic University of Valencia. The opening ceremony was led by UTM Prorector Mrs. Daniela Pojar, PhD, who emphasized the role of university leadership in promoting internationalization as a key factor for educational quality and institutional development. The support of national authorities was highlighted by Mrs. Ludmila Pavlov, Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Education and Research of Moldova, while the impact of Erasmus+ was underlined by Claudia Melinte, National Erasmus+ Office Coordinator in Moldova. A central moment of the event was a detailed presentation of the IRO4ALL project by Mrs. Nina Puțuntean, Assos. Prof., PhD, providing a clear overview of the project’s objectives, structure, and implementation mechanisms. Project activities are organized into six work packages covering staff training and capacity development, institutional internationalization, result dissemination, quality assurance, and project management. The expertise of European partners from Spain, Czech Republic, and Romania plays a key role in preparing training materials and implementing internationalization measures, while quality assurance is ensured by the external evaluator Mr. Arayik Navoyan (Armenia). The second session was dedicated to work packages on exploitation and dissemination of results, as well as project management and coordination, including financial aspects. Presentations by Mrs. Cristina Diaconu, PhD (project manager), Mrs. Oxana Cibotaru, and Mrs. Valentina Frunze provided a clear view of implementation mechanisms, operational coordination, and financial framework, emphasizing the importance of strict compliance with Erasmus+ rules and standards. Institutional responsibilities, communication and dissemination strategies, progress monitoring tools, and key milestones of the implementation schedule were presented, highlighting the role of efficient and transparent management for project impact and sustainability. The Project Governance Council approved key documents, including the coordination structure, quality assurance strategy, and the first-year activity plan, confirming the firm commitment of all partners. The event concluded with a guided tour of the Râșcani campus, providing partners with a direct view of UTM’s modern education, research, and innovation infrastructure: Tekwill, FabLab, ZIPHOUSE, Microlab, Agrotek Arena, Green Bio Hub, Micro-Winemaking Laboratory, and other representative centers, reinforcing the image of the university as future-oriented, open to international collaboration, and integrated into European innovation ecosystems. Participation of Comrat State University emphasizes the institution’s commitment to internationalization, exchange of best practices, and alignment with European educational standards. The project aims to integrate internationalization at strategic, operational, and cultural levels through institutional policy modernization and capacity building of international relations offices staff. Expected results include modernized universities, staff trained to European standards, and digital tools for enhanced international visibility. Active participation of CSU demonstrates the commitment of Moldovan universities to integration into European educational and innovation ecosystems.
