The presentation of the second edition of the Russian-Gagauz-Romanian-Turkish dictionary at Comrat State University on July 26, 2024, became a significant event for the academic community and cultural exchange among residents of the ATU Gagauzia region. The dictionary is a unique resource that brings together four different languages and cultures: Russian, Gagauz, Romanian, and Turkish. The publication of the dictionary is of great importance for intercultural understanding and the development of language competencies among residents of the ATU Gagauzia region. It contributes to the preservation and study of linguistic diversity, as well as strengthening connections between different ethnic and language groups. The dictionary presentation was an occasion for scholarly discussions, exchange of experiences, and practical skills in the fields of linguistics and cultural studies for all participants. The event was held under the auspices of the Research Center of Gagauzia Maria Marunevich. The patron of the edition, Gagauz native Victor Kîrmîzî, informed attendees about the meticulous, multi-day work done by the dictionary's authors. Rector of Comrat State University Assoc. prof., PhD Serghei Zaharia, conveyed a welcoming message to event participants, stating: 'Comrat State University has always considered supporting and developing scientific and educational projects aimed at strengthening intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding as one of its main missions. The republication of this dictionary is a clear testament to serious and important work. This dictionary will be a valuable contribution to the field of linguistics, providing researchers, students, and anyone interested in languages and cultures with a unique tool for study and research. We live in an era of globalization where knowledge and understanding of different languages and cultures are of particular importance. This dictionary is a symbol of diversity and unity at the same time, contributing to strengthening ties between ethnic groups living compactly in the ATU Gagauzia and maintaining dialogue between different cultures of the world. I want to express sincere gratitude to everyone involved in the creation and republication of this dictionary. I am confident that this version will find its rightful place in libraries, educational institutions, and homes of many people, contributing to the dissemination of knowledge and understanding of our common cultural heritage.' Speakers at the event emphasized that such initiatives contribute to expanding knowledge about languages and cultures, as well as raising the level of mutual understanding and respect among different ethnic communities. This is an important step towards strengthening intercultural dialogue and cooperation in the modern multilingual world. It was noted that each educational institution in the ATU Gagauzia will receive one copy of the edition.
