On November 6, 2024, in partnership with and supported by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in the Republic of Moldova (Konrad Adenauer Stiftung), the EU4Dialogue project (aimed at creating a favorable environment to reduce tensions, promote dialogue, and ensure better understanding between peoples), the National Museum of History of the Republic of Moldova, the Institute of History of Moldova State University, and the Avdarma Village Museum, the International Scientific Conference "Memory and History of Soviet Terror: Research Issues, Results, and Experience Sharing" was held. Comrat State University (CSU) was represented by Rector Assoc. Prof., PhD Serghei Zaharia, Prof., PhD Constantin Taușanji, and Lect., PhD Güllü Karanfil. The moderators were V. Barladeanu and I. Cazmalî. The conference discussed research on the history of totalitarianism, archaeological findings in Tiraspol, and proposed introducing a school course on the crimes of the communist regime to prevent repeating past mistakes. The "EU4Dialogue: Supporting Understanding Between Conflicting Sides" project is the first component of a broader EU4Dialogue program aimed at fostering dialogue and mutual understanding through research, events, training, and seminars at various levels and settings for participants from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Moldova. Conference participants were presented with the monograph "A Name on the Stone: The Last Bastion," authored by I.A. Chetvericov, A.A. Palamar, and R.L. Romanov, Tiraspol, 2024. The monograph analyzes archaeological data on executions at the "Vladimir" bastion of the Tiraspol Fortress and political repressions in the Moldavian ASSR in 1937-1938. The administration and scientific library of CSU express their gratitude to I.M. Cazmalî for enriching the library's collection of historical literature.
