On December 20, 2024, faculty and staff from the International Relations and Project Activities Department of Comrat State University took part in the online seminar “Enhancing Graduates’ Employability Tracking in Moldova,” organized by the National Erasmus+ Office in Moldova in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova with the support of the EU Delegation to Moldova. The seminar is part of the activities of higher education reform experts within the European Union's Erasmus+ program and was organized with the support of the SPHERE consortium. The seminar aimed to enhance the efficiency of tracking graduates’ employability, reform higher education, and improve the alignment of educational programs with labor market demands. The keynote expert of the event was Prof. Stéphanie Deveze from the University of Montpellier, France. Key points of her presentation included the significance of employability tracking, the connection between educational programs and labor market requirements, benefits for universities and graduates, practical recommendations, and examples from France, Germany, Italy, and Spain regarding the implementation of tracking systems. The challenges of data collection, collaboration with industries, and adapting educational programs were also discussed. The seminar featured three main sessions:
Session 1: “Enhancing Graduates’ Employability Tracking” - regulatory framework and practices at the national (system) level.
Session 2: Developing universities’ integrative function for employability tracking (reforming top management).
Session 3: Creating an institutional ecosystem for employability tracking (focusing on Career Development Centers).
The seminar underscored the importance of employability tracking as a crucial step in reforming educational systems and adapting them to the demands of the modern labor market. Participants discussed the successful experiences of European countries and developed recommendations for implementing similar projects in Moldova. Participation in this seminar is highly significant for Comrat State University, enabling it to adopt the best European practices aimed at improving graduates’ employability.
Comrat State University expresses its gratitude to the National Erasmus+ Office in Moldova, the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova, and the EU Delegation to Moldova for organizing this essential and meaningful seminar.
