Dear teachers, students, and all Moodle users! Comrat State University has been actively using the LMS Moodle distance learning system for more than ten years. Its development began on June 18, 2013, within the framework of the Tempus CRUNT project, in which our university was a partner, while the national coordinator was the Technical University of Moldova.

Since its launch, significant efforts have been made to improve and maintain the platform. In the early years, Moodle operated on a regular PC without a dedicated server. However, thanks to the ERASMUS+ TEACH ME project and the support of the university’s rector, Assoc. prof., PhD Serghei Zaharia a server was purchased in 2017. Great technical assistance was provided by Mihail Cușnir from the Agricultural University of the Republic of Moldova, who helped update and migrate the platform to new infrastructure.

Since then, the system has been continuously improved. In August 2024, Moodle was upgraded to a newer version and transferred to a modern server acquired through the ERASMUS+ COMPASS project.

After the completion of the TEMPUS CRUNT project in 2014, the university continued to seek sustainable solutions for the stable operation of the platform. This made it possible for teachers to create online courses, cope with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, and adapt to the digital transformation of education.

A special role in the development of Moodle was played by the Department of Information Technologies, Mathematics, and Physics, which over the years has conducted training sessions, workshops, and provided consultation and technical support to teachers. In 2018, the university hosted expert Werner Hassenpflug (Germany, SES), who trained university staff and provided guidance to the platform administrator, Tatiana Velicova.

Thanks to the joint efforts of the university’s teachers and staff, the number of online courses in Moodle continues to grow every year. Today, this success stands as a testament to the dedication, professionalism, and enthusiasm of the entire team.
